No respect for some Archangels...sigh

It started with this thread on Etsy:
http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6019381&page=158
And I've wondering when Michael and Gabriel and even Raphael get the billing but not Uriel, who is the other Archangel that guarded the East Entrance to the Garden of Eden...

According to some of the religions there's a whole bunch more than these guys too.
Here's a small bit from Wiki:
Archangels are members of the second choir of angels. Archangels are found in a number of religious traditions, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism. Michael is the only archangel named in the Bible as recognized by both Catholic and Protestant denominations. Gabriel, named in Luke, is considered to be an archangel, as are Raphael (mentioned in the Book of Tobit) and Uriel (mentioned in the Book of Enoch). The Book of Tobit is included in the Catholic Canon of the Bible, but is considered apocryphal by Protestants. The archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are venerated in the Roman Catholic Church with a feast on 29 September. Uriel doesn't get a feast day...The named Archangels in Islam are Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and Azrael.

Eastern Orthodox is a bit more fair, Uriel gets billing as one of the top seven amongst thousands...still no feast day though. The top 7 are the usuals: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, then Uriel, Sealtiel, Jegudiel, and Barachiel.

Occultists use the Archangels for Drawing the Quarters and link specific colours with each one...I used to know this when I was going down the dark path...

In a banishing ritual of the Pentagram the Archangels are used for the invocation.

Some Catholics prescribe the days of the weeks to the seven Archangels.

Uriel did get included in Pope Gregory's list. He was ascribed to be the Overseer of Summer, Michael got Autumn, Gabriel got Winter and Raphael got Spring. Pope Gregory also named 3 other Archangels...Samiel, Oriphiel, and Zachariel.

The Christian Church had fits over the faithful worshipping the Archangels and kicked 7 of them to the celestical curb, including poor Uriel...

Our boy,umm...Archangel, Uriel:

Uriel is considered one of the wisest Archangels because of his intellectual information, practical solutions and creative insight, but he is very subtle. You may not even realize he has answered your prayer until you've suddenly come up with a brilliant new idea.

Uriel warned Noah of the impending flood, helped the prophet Ezra to interpret mystical predictions about the coming Messiah and delivered the Cabal to humankind. He also brought the knowledge and practice of alchemy and the ability to manifest from thin air, as well as illuminates situations and gives prophetic information and warnings. All this considered, Uriel's area of expertise is divine magic, problem solving, spiritual understanding, studies, alchemy, weather, earth changes and writing. Considered to be the Archangel who helps with earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, natural disaster and earth changes, call on Uriel to avert such events or to heal and recover in their aftermath...

Is one of the most dedicated and faithful members of the host and as such was put in charge of Tartarus (another name for Hades), He Identified as both a seraph and a cherub and is most well known for his appearance in the book of Revelation where he calls forth the birds of the air to feast upon the fallen. Here his role was as Regent of the Sun. Although Raphael is credited with teaching the building of the ark, Uriel warned Noah of the impending flood. He also attacked Moses for failing to circumcise his son.

"Uriel is the spirit of ministration and peace. He helps turn our worst disappointments into our greatest blessings. He is the Archangel of salvation. The ruler over magick, devotion, alchemy, sudden changes, ("The Winds Of Change"), astrology, universal cosmic consciousness, divine order, distribution of power and universal flow, emergencies, judgment, enlightenment and insights.

Uriel appears in Milton's Paradise Lost where he is the 'Regent of the Sun' and 'sharpest-sighted spirit of all in heaven.'

Legend tells us that Uriel stands at the gate of the Lost Eden with a fiery sword. The Lost Eden is a term describing forgetting to Love God. The fiery sword shows that negative matter (selfish and unpure desires) are destroyed when one truly focuses their love on God. In this legend Uriel reminds humanity to Love God by using the "fire of God" (by using the fiery sword).

Uriel teaches the path of the heart, the fire of pure Love. Without this pure Love and devotion to Spirit, all spiritual study remains an intellectual pursuit, fairy gold. This understanding of true spiritual study is further supported by the tradition that Uriel brought to Earth: Alchemy, the heavenly arcana and was the giver of the Cabala to man.

Uriel rules over Monday and Wednesday and is the alchemy of universal order. He is the Governor of the East and the element of Air. He is the angel of September and may be invoked ritually by those born in that month.

Uriel's candle colors are violet, white and indigo.

Uriel's color energies are violet, white, indigo, blue, silver, and rainbow."

I think he should be put back in with Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. So there!!!

I worked today. Bill got sold since Monday...I really and truly hope it wasn't for food again...sigh. We got a bunch of Gerbils and 4 more Roborowski hamsters and two Long Haired hammies and 4 Male Guinea Pigs.

Noone had been cleaned since I did it on Monday. The ferret habitat smelled like a urinal at Yankee Stadium on Free Beer night...ewww. So I did them, the male mice, female mice and small rats. I KNEW Bill wasn't going to be there...I didn't "feel" him in there...it was the same when Eric went too.

My back went out when I was cleaning the mice...oh what fun...
Donations of painkillers will be gratefully accepted. pleaznthanx
04/03/09
I wasted an hour of my life to get the same meds I'm taking that aren't working...Yays.
The Asshat didn't offer an xray or feel to see if there was a disk out of place or anything...Ernie's right. I can't wait until the quack friggin retires and we can get another GOOD doctor. Just raise your legs and stop when it hurts. Bend forwards, stop when it hurts, Bend backwards, stop when it hurts...If it didn't hurt to move, I wouldn't have GONE!!! What a jackass!!

Mike says to me this morning: "Danielle has to make up a science test and then you're going to pick us up and drive us to her Weymouth house." I said no. Then he gives me attitude and asks, "Why the fuck not?" "Because my back is killing me and even sitting hurts." I can't believe the nerve of HIM!!!What a jerk!
My sister is supposed to be coming over with her four kids so I can do her taxes.
I took a nap this afternoon. I told Obelisk to wake me up around 2:30 so that I could be up for Mike's coming home from school. She started bik bik BikBIKBIKBIKing around 2...I wonder where she keeps her watch...
Ernie shelled out for pizza.

Mike went to the Teen Center for a concert of local bands.

Now we're watching DollHouse.
04/04/09
I had to cancel my sister because I had a bad night. Could barely move this morning...how suckalicious...
And since Mike hasn't done any picking up in the living room, I have to do that too...I can't bend over or move fast and it took me three tries to get off the toilet this morning...

My sister's coming over with the kids and I STILL have to sweep the chicken/chipmunk room...

Mike's already snapping our heads off and Ernie's complaining that he needs to find another job for the weekends...

I just wanna go back to bed...
He was asking me why Ernie was in a bad mood and I was like it's you being a buttswab.
He's like I brought the hamper down yesterday and I was going to miss the bus...But we asked him to do it the night before...and we got the I KNOW!! And it wasn't done.
Can you? I KNOW!! He doesn't even let you finish a sentence...I think some of that's Danielle which is NOT helping things. But I'm gonna remedy that... just a little hotfoot powder and this should happen...
I spent most of the day shifting between an ice pack and a full body massage mat. Ernie made dinner...that was so nice of him.
04/05/09
More good vibes coming from this way too for Kritter's FIL. He had a hemorrhagic stroke and he's in rough shape...
Stupid back still isn't doing better. shit...
And the pills I'm taking give me major dry mouth...I hate waking up feeling like I've been gnawing on a sweatsock all night...blech.
Danielle's been texting Mike already this morning saying that she can't see him on weekends anymore...And he can't see her during the week because we haven't seen a report card yet. This is gonna get interesting...
I called into work for tomorrow...I was folding laundry and had to stop a few times... I am NOT happy. I don't have to work again until Thursday. Goddess willing, I will feel better.
Ernie says to me, "What was that reserved listing on Etsy?" I'm like it's witch stuff, don't ask cuz you don't wanna know." And he shut up real quick LOL
The stupid pills I take as a muscle relaxer knocks me for a loop. I took another nap this after...
04/06/09
Baseball game between the White Sox and the Royals has been snowed out.
Baseball game between the Red Sox and the Rays might be rained out...
Farkin weather.
It got rained out...grrr...
I got Mike off to school, then Ernie got up to run errands and I went back to bed...My back feels a wee bit better...
I have water in the front of my cellar and in the back of my cellar and I'm not supposed to lift the shopvacs...guess what...someone's gotta!
DS has been helping some, but he's puny and scrawny and weak...
Even lifting 31 gallons of water out of the cellar, my back feels better, at least right now...but I took lotso drugs, so we'll see when they wear off...Each gallon weighs 10 pounds...ack!

Thankfully, Mike helped...other than that there'd be things floating...We have two shopvacs so I did the back and he did the front.

04/07/09
Our basement flood has receded, thankfully. My back feels amazingly better, but I took enough drugs last night to fell an elephant, so we'll see how I feel when they wear off.

There WILL be baseball today, steak for dinner and all will be right with the world.

Blahblah blah...playing catchup again...
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
It's been a strange sorta month...but then again it's March in New England. I've had trouble with my back too. My hips keep going in and out of the joint...they're not supposed to...but they're not listening. I even had to call into work because I couldn't even stand up.
Busy little bumble bee I've been...
I worked M-F for two weeks in a row..talk about rolling in the dough...
BUT on the other hand, I had nothing made for Chickenstock and I really wanted to go...I tried making some pendants and incinerated the lot...dammit!!!
03/15/09
The inlaw visit went okay. My MIL complained and I told her about Val and all her problems and that she STILL runs a horse farm/stable...and she wanted to know how she managed...I said that she work through it every day because that's what keeps her going...If she had some sort of hobby, she'd be better off but neither of them have any interests.

We had to tell my FIL ONCE again how to get his mail. Ernie changed the icon this time to a big honking envelope and if he can't find it now FORGET IT!!! We gave them a GPS for the car so that they can get back home from wherever they are and if FIL gets lost again. About a month ago, they were out running errands and he forgot how to get home... I can't even imagine. So we have their home address, ours, Magda, Kathy and John, and Aunt Jenny and Cousin George, Demoulas (two of them) Costco and another place...it's getting very scary...
Pretty soon, I'm gonna hafta go over there and drive them to all their doctor's appointments, to the market and stuff...But it's gonna be safer that way. Every Tuesday, they drive up to New Hampshire to a mall and every Tuesday on the news there's a story about some old person who's caused an accident...

Lunch was sandwiches. BLT's actually...if you could call that incinerated meat product bacon...it looked like it was at Ground Zero in Hiroshima...sigh...and I was looking forward to bacon...But I gamely ate it anyways. Tonight is hotdogs...AND I have a can of chili...so I might do chili dogs for me...
03/17/09
I found out the bunny that we've been taking care of in our store after her "owner" dropped her off died over the weekend. Poor baby. But Oreo's better off. I had a dream that she was dying and I told her to just go...sniffle.

It's not been a good clothing week for me. The bra I wear most for work all the hooks broke...and my favourite pair of Arizona Jean Company Olive Cargo pants, ripped today...I can't fix em either...

So I went to Kohls and bought two pairs of Zip Off cargos for $14 each and a bra for $22...sheesh. When the heck did BRAS get so expensive? It was originally $34.99, but dang! I can't even be cheap with my size...
03/20/09
I worked...Jiminy, another one of the rats was being a brat and trying to escape...but he let me hold him for a couple of minutes. I played with the ferret and she's just gotten so good, it's like a completely different animal since last week. I cleaned the mice again. One male was doing a barrel roll, so I had Justin set him up in a cage out back. He's not long for this world...poor dear.

One of the managers is going on vacation next week...to Poland! I wanna go!!

We have to pick Mike up at school at quarter of 4 because Danielle is taking tennis lessons...shrug...then we'll take them both over to her mother's house and pick him up around 8:30. After we drop him off, we're going to the market because it's near there.

I had a good time with one of the ferrets. She was so happy to have someone play with her. Justin really likes them and so doesn't Sarah. The last couple of bunches have been downright shitheads, shredding and chewing you to bits for fun.
But the girl one we had seemed like she had grown up alot. She was playing and making all sorts of happy noises attacking my shoes. The next day she got under one of the shelves and found a rubber ball and that was fun for her too. Until I lost her...I was like WTF could she have gone...well she had made it all the way to the cookie bar and was underneath. So I locked her in and finished cleaning her habitat.
03/21/09
Mike's friend Kevin has to move out of the place he and his mom's been living by April 3rd. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have them wait until school ended in June?
03/26/09
Spring is officially here. I have crocuses croaking and Dairy Queen is open. Yays!
Unfortunately, I've been fighting off the flu for a week or so. I had the body aches and chills, blech. Now that I feel a tiny bit better, my allergies are acting up.
We went and said goodbye to Kevin on Saturday. That was sad. He's a nice kid. Mike bought his set of Samurai Swords because Kevin was selling them.
I'm up to 4 playlists on Playlist.com Holy shit! Well I guess it could be worse...
Back on Etsy, I've listed some DreamWebs and other things. I've even traded and sold some destash stuff. Still have plenty. LOL
